Bei dem schönen Regenbogen haben wir versucht, Rehe von der Farm in Skye zu vertreiben. // While this beautiful rainbow was on, we tried to chase some deer from the farm in Skye
Ein Bild von meinem "Sitzplatz" in Forres. Dort habe ich jeden Tag ein wenig Zeit verbracht, um mich mit der Natur und die Natur mit mir vertraut zu machen. // A picture of my sitting-spot in Forres. I´ve spent a bit of time each day there, to get used to nature and get the nature used to me.
Die Bilder sind ein wenig kunterbunt. Dies ist der Viadukt aus den Harry Potter-Filmen. Es macht mir viel Spass, selbst zu kochen. Und es war schön zu sehen, dass doch einige von den Gästen und Mitarbeitern des Hostels viel selber kochen. Und mir hat es auch gefallen, für Kostas (ein Kollege aus Griechenland) mit zu kochen. Und die Pizza war ganz gut. // I like it, to cook by myself. And it was good to see, that some of the guests and workers of the Hostel are cooking by themselves. And it was fun for me, to cook also for Kostas (a co-worker from Greece). And the pizza was good.
So friedlich können Religionen nebeneinander existieren. // That´s how peaceful religions can co-exist next to each other.

Ach ja, ich bin in den letzten Tagen auch kulturell ganz gut unterwegs. So war ich mittlerweile schon in Kelvingrove Art und Museum, im Riverside Museum und im Center of Comtemporary Art. Ich bin seit Freitag wieder in Glasgow. Und ich arbeite seit gestern im Hostel, wo ich untergekommen bin. Arbeite fuer meine Unterkunft. Spare ein paar Pfund, so dass ich mir wenigstens etwas vernuenftiges zu essen kaufen kann. Es ist schon erstaunlich, wie achtlos die meisten Menschen hier essen. Oder es kommt mir einfach nur so vor, weil ich jetzt fuer 3 Wochen ziemlich verwoehnt war, was gesundes essen angeht? // Since Friday I'm back in Glasgow. And since yesterday I'm working in the hostel, I stay in. Work for my accomodation. Save acouple of pounds, so that I can buy some good food. It's astonishing, how careless most of the people here choosing their food. Or is it just a feeling, because I was spoiled the last three weeks, when it comes to healthy food?
Gestern waren 39 Betten neu zu beziehen. Ich arbeite mit Kostas zusammen, einem Griechen. Und wir haben lockere 3 1/2 Stunden fuer die ganze Aktion gebraucht. Heute habe ich geputzt. Einige Klos und Duschen, aber auch die ganzen Wohnraeume und Flure. Und wieder locker 3 1/2 Stunden gebraucht. Es macht eigentlich keinen Sinn, denn eine Uebernachtung kostet knappe 11 Pfund und der Mindestlohn fuer eine Stunde in Schottland ist bei 7.50 Pfund. Wuerde also mehr Sinn machen, fuer 4 Stunden in einem Resaturant die Bar zu machen und dann die Unterkunft zu zahlen. Aber hei......was soll's. Und solange ich genug spare, um am Wochenende irgendwo lecker essen gehen zu koennen (am besten noch mit einem lieben Menschen), dann geht das schon in Ordnung. // Yesterday there were 39 beds to be made. I work together with Kostas from greece. And it took us about 3 1/2 hours for all of it. Today I cleaned. Some toilets and showers, but also all the dorms and the corridors. And again it took me 3 1/2 hours. Don't make much sense, because a night at the hostel cost me about 11 pounds and the minimum wage here in scotland is at about 7.50 pounds. It would make more sense, to work the bar at a restaurant for 4 hours and then to pay for the bed. But hei.....so what. When I can save enough, to have a nice dinner at the weekend (at the best with a person I really like), that that is pretty o.k. for me.

Wir waren eine Woche lang in Forres. Etwas mehr in Richtung Ostkueste Schottlands, eine Stunde oestlich von Inverness. Und das Wetter und die Landschaft war komplett anders als hier auf Skye. Es hat nicht so viel geregnet, dafuer war es doch etwas kaelter. Zwischen 7 und 11 Leute waren dort und haben mitgeholfen, die alte Farm dort quasi abzubauen. Was bedeutet, wir haben die Zauene demontiert, gute Erde in Saecke gefuellt, Baeume und Pflanzen ausgegraben und alles dann in 3 grossen Fuhren und 1 kleineren Fuhre von Forres hierher nach Rubha Phoil gebracht. Und dabei in einer kleinen Zeltstadt gelebt, am offenen Feuer gekocht (und uns gewaermt), die naehere Umgebung erkundet und die Natur genossen. // We were for a week in Forres. It's a bit more to the eastcoast of Scotland. About an hour east from Inverness. And the weather and the landscape is so completely different then here at Skye. It wasn't raining as much as here, therefore it was colder. Between 7 and 11 people were there, helping to dismantle the old farm. That meant, we dismantled the fences, put good soil in bags, dug out trees and plants and brought it all in 3 big loads and one smaller load from Forres here to Rubha Phoil. And lived in a little tent-city, cooked on the open fire (and warmed us up), discovered the surrounding and enjoyed the nature.
Hier auf Skye ist es wieder nass und sehr kuehl. Meine Fuesse fuehlen sich an wie Eiskloetze. Ich hoffe, die Pizza ist gleich fertig und dann werde ich essen, mir meine Wasserflasche mit heissem Wasser fuellen und mich in meinen warmen Schlafsack im Zelt verziehen. Das heisst....ich muss den Schlafsack erst einmal selbst waermen. Ich hoffe, die Wasserflasche hilft mir dabei. Es ist fast am frieren hier und es regnet immer mal wieder. // Here at Skye it is wet and cold again. My feet feel like ice-cubes. I hope, the pizza is ready soon and then I will eat, fill my waterbottle with hot water and stick myself in my warm sleeping-bag. Which means....I have to warm up the sleeping-bag by myself. Hopefully the waterbottle helps me with it. It's close to freezing here and it rains now and then.

Ich bin im Moment auf der Isle of Skye. Helfe hier mit, eine Permaculture-Farm zu gestalten. Ein toller Flecken Erde hier. Und sehr nette Leute mit denen ich hier zusammenarbeite. Ich habe schon richtig gute Bilder gemacht, die werden allerdings noch warten muessen. Denn am Mittwoch geht es erstmal auf die "alte" Farm, die muss noch aufgeraeumt werden. Und dort warten weder Strom noch heisses Wasser noch eine Dusche auf uns....es wird also lustig werden. Na...eine Woche kann ich auch ohne all dies leben. // At the moment I'm at the Isle of Skye. Helping to create a Permaculture Farm. A lovely piece of land here. And very lovely people to work with. I made some really good pictures, but they have to wait. Because on Wednesday we move to the "old" farm, which has to be tidied up. And there we will have neither electricity, nor hot water, nor a shower....that will be funny. Ah...one week I can live without all that.

Feuchte Gruesse aus Schottland. Seit ich mich per Anhalter auf den Weg gemacht habe, konnte ich die tolle Landschaft hier ausgiebig durch einen Regenschleier bewundern. Ich will nicht jammern. Die Landschaft ist wirklich klasse. Leider bin ich des nachts durch Glencoe gefahren, aber habe trotzdem einen Eindruck von der Schoenheit dieser Gegend bekommen. // Moist greetings from Scotland. Since I started out hitchhiking, i could admire this fantastic landscape very extensive through a rain veil. I will not complain. The landscape here is really beautiful. Unfortunately I drove through Glencoe at night, but i got a glimpse of the beauty of this part of the world.
Es ist leicht hier in Schottland, per Anhalter zu reisen. Gleich am ersten Tag bin ich von vier Leuten mitgenommen worden und bin nie lange an der Strasse gestanden. Nur das Wetter spielt halt nicht wirklich mit. Ich bin schon zwei Tage lang komplett in meinem Zelt geblieben, weil es dermassen geregnet hat, dass ich einfach nicht raus wollte und riskieren, dass es auch im Zelt dann richtig nass wird. Im Moment ist naemlich mein Zelt und vor allem mein Schlafsack der einzig warme und trockene Platz (abgesehen von der Buecherei hier....) fuer mich. Und es ist nicht immer leicht, einen vernuenftigen Platz fuer mein Zelt zu finden, da ich halt doch hier in einer Stadt bin. //It's easy, to hitch through Scotland. Right at the first day i got 4 rides and never stood a long time at the street. Just the weather isn't playing along so well. For 2 days already I stayed in my tent, because it rained so much, that I didn't want to go outside and take the risk, that my tent also get completely wet. At the moment my tent and especially my sleeping bag are the only warm and dry places for me (except of the library here...). And it's not so easy, to find a good place for my tent, because I'm in a city.
Der Computer hier spielt nicht so mit, wie ich es gerne haette. Gerade habe ich es geschafft, ein paar Bilder zu uebertragen, aber jetzt findet er wieder meinen Adapter nicht. Ihr muesst also mit dem Vorlieb nehmen, was ich vorgestern und gestern so gemacht habe, was nicht viel ist. // The computer here don't work like I want him to. I made it, to transfer some pictures, but now he won't find my adapter any more. So you have to go, with what I made yesterday and the day before, which is not much.
Das ist die Wiese, auf der ich die letzten Naechte uebernachtet habe. Sie gleicht schon mehr einem Moor, aber ich bin nah an der Strasse, was es etwas lauter, aber halt auch ein klein wenig trockener macht. Einige Reiher habe ich hier schon gesehen, also wird es auch ordentlich Froesche hier haben. // This is the meadow, I pitched tent the last nights. It's more a moor, but I pitched close to the street, which makes it a bit louder, but also a little bit more dry. Some I could spot some herons here, so there must be a lot of frogs also.
Zum Glueck habe ich ein gutes Buch und etwas Musik, sonst waere es schon richtig langweilig. Ich werde sehen, dass ich heute weiterkomme, wenn moeglich bis Mallaig, von wo aus dann eine Faehre auf die Isle of Skye geht. // Fortunately I got a good book and a bit of music, otherwise it would be really boring. I will see, that I can go on today, if possible to Mallaig. From there a ferry runs to the Isle of Skye.

Ich habe gerade ein paar Artikel gelesen, die mich mal wieder so richtig nachdenklich machen. Nach nunmehr fast 5 Jahren, in denen ich doch gut in der Welt herumgekommen bin und mit vielen Menschen aus unterschiedlichen Laendern gesprochen habe, kann ich wohl sagen, dass die ueberwaeltigende Mehrzahl der Menschen auf diesem Planeten es NICHT WUENSCHT, dass wir Menschen GOTT spielen !!! // I read some articles right now, which make me think. After nearly 5 years, in which I've seen a lot of the world and talked to a lot of people in different countries, I can say, that the overwhelming majority of people DON'T like, that humans PLAY GOD !!!

Immer noch Glasgow. Und auch die letzte Nacht war wieder wenig mit Schlaf. Diesmal aber wenigstens mit interessanter Gesellschaft. Ich habe nochmal um zwei Naechte hier verlaengert. Irgendwann muss es doch endlich mal gelingen, wieder in einen vernuenftigen Tag/Nacht-Rhythmus zu kommen. Der Sturm, der erst Irland etwas zerzaust hat, ist auch in Schottland angekommen. Mit viel Wind und Regen. Von daher auch gut, dass ich mich heute nicht an die Strasse stelle und versuche, etwas noerdlicher zu kommen. // Still Glasgow. And the last night got me also not much sleep. But this time I had at least an interesting companionship. I extended my stay here for 2 more nights. At one stage it has to be possible, to come into a proper day/night-rhythm. The storm, that windswept Ireland, now arrived in Scotland. With a lot of wind and tain. Due to this it's good, that I don't have to stand at the street to try to get a bit more north.

Obwohl ich immer noch mit auesserst wenig Schlaf durch die Gegend laufe, habe ich es gestern doch geschafft, mir mal etwas mehr von Glasgow anzuschauen. Vielen Dank an Ottavia, die mir das Westend von Glasgow gezeigt hat. Und die Universitaet, in der sie studiert hat. Kunst. Und wenn ich mir das tolle Gemaeuer so anschaue, dann kann ich verstehen, warum jemand dort Kunst studiert! Vielen Dank, dass du mir diese sehr schoene Seite Glasgows gezeigt hast. // Although I still run around with next to no sleep, I managed to take a glimpse at Glasgow. Thanks to Ottavia, who showed me the westend. And the university, where she studied. Art. And when I look at that amazing masonry, I can understand, why someone is studying art there. Thank you so much, that you showed me that beautiful side of Glasgow.
Anschliessend waren wir noch auf ein Glas Wein in einer zu einem Restaurant umgebauten Kirche. Richtig gut gemacht. // Then we went for a glas of wine in a church, which was converted into a restaurant. Well done.
Als ich so rumgelaufen bin, fuehlte ich mich ein wenig in die 80'er oder 90'er zurueckversetzt. Zumindest wenn es um Musik geht.... // When I walked around, I felt a bit like I was back in the 80's or beginning 90's again. When it comes to music.....

Wow, wieder eine Nacht fast ohne Schlaf. Schoen langsam fahre ich auf Reserve. Und ich habe noch nicht viel von Glasgow gesehen. Das, was ich bislang gesehen habe, sieht ganz gut aus. Alte Gebaeude, schmale Strassen und viele Kirchen und Tempel. Auf jeden Fall gebe ich mir noch ein paar mehr Tage hier. // Wow, again a night with next to no sleep at all. Slowly I drive on reserve. And I haven't seen much of Glasgow now. What I've seen is really nice. Old buildings, small streets and lot of churches and temples. Anyway, I will stay some more days here.

Ich bin gut in Glasgow angekommen. Allerdings bin ich so richtig muede und werde mich gleich erstmal ins Bett begeben. Schlafen im Flugzeug ist halt nun einmal nicht meins. // I arrived safely in Glasgow. But I'm so tired and will go to bed now. I just can't sleep in planes.
